VARANASI THE HOLY CITY
March 12-13, 2016
Varanasi is a holy city of the Hinduism and it’s crazy and powerful at the same time. It’s one of the most dirty places I’ve ever visited and also one of the most touching places. We stayed in the old city, near the ghats (the Western bank of the Ganges). On our way to Varanasi I saw two times someone hitting another person. The third time was Tilasmi at the burning ghats (where they cremate people). It was not allowed to film there, but we didn’t know and he tried carefully. Only then a junky tried to make a scam of it and wanted a lot of money. He kept following us. Finally Tilasmi hit the guy. Indian people were thanking Tilasmi for it…So three times on one day confronted with my fear of anger, I was struggling with it for years. In the evening we visited the river worship ceremony at the ghats, very powerful.
The second day my head was busy. Finally it was about my fear of anger. Until I realised that anger for me was connected to the believe that I’m not allowed to do what I want. So simple… We visited the monkey temple, a very nice temple to visit. There I could feel totally connected with all the people. We also did a lot of walking today in the ghats, it felt like a pelgrimage.
Living now
My head is always so busy with the future. Walking at the ghats suddenly I realised that I can give something positive to the world/the people on every moment… nothing about the future. A few minutes later we passed an event from the local university about a clean Varanasi. Looking at it, a man asked me to say something in the microphone to the students about the subject. I did. That moment I received the possibility to give something. A beautiful experience for living just now.
