Day 7 of our bike trip from Goa to Nepal

ADVENTURE IS

From status to being just me/you

March 11, 2016
We started our day with a argue/conversation about respect. For me this was about changing my believe system. In stead of having respect for status (money, job, having a lot of things,…), having respect for being just me/you (courage, connection, live life, …).

We left at 6.30am and the whole day was not really my day…;). At 2 pm we had only driven the first 150 km! Because the roads were so bad. I was really fed up with all the bumbs! I thought “We’re just crazy to do this trip!” On the other hand, all the gifts of this trip makes it worthy. And again no day without visiting a mechanic! The motorbike has a hard job here and the quality of the materials is not that good. So the bike needed some replacements.

Then finally some real highway, so we still could try to reach Varanasi today.

I felt a lot of anger about taking my own space. Especially when again an Indian man asked to much money for the services. But this time I chose to say something about it. At least that was releasing. Then Tilasmi lost my sunglasses while driving. We found it back quickly, only totally broken by a truck… I was angry, because it were good glasses. Until I realised that the loss of the glasses gave me the opportunity to let go my old life. Like the pattern mentioned above, becoming just me instead of living life for status. A loss turned into a gift!

We didn’t reached Varanasi this day, still 60 km to go (1,5 – 2 hours driving). We found a hotel at 7.30pm in Mirzapur. There we had a very good dinner!
